Gotta go! Meeting with some friends for a movie. Later!
“Anyone up fer a drink? I really need ta get out of the house. I’ll go by myself if ya’ll ain’t up to it.”
Scooting in in the most dignified manner possible, she contained a snort at the nickname that just occurred. “Oh, I am fully ready for such a thing.”
She grinned. “Let’s see who can hold their liquor!”
“Of course I can,” she fluffed her hair. “I am a professional.” No. No she isn’t.
“Well, I’m from Texas. I drank with all the big boys. Gotta learn ta drink if yer gonna be runnin’ with cowboys.”
“Sure, sure~,” she gave a chuckle. “You do have a point but I have been a consumer of alcohol since before you were born, dear.”
“Well, sorry Charly, but time ain’t got a thing on quantity. I know people who did not drink fer 10 years. So ya can be older than me, but how much have ya really drank? I’ll tell ya, I was a regular at my local Austin bar, havin’ drinks with all the big boys.”
“…Valid point.” While being a master of moderation was in fact fantastic for her liver and other organs along with her reputation, the downside was that she in fact could only consume the appropriate amount of liquor with the exception of champagne for her body mass without being a mess.
Amelia grinned and steered her car into an available parking space. “I’ll go easy on ya.”
Getting out of the car, she straightened her skirts once again. “Oh thank you.” Well meaning sarcasm, hooray.
Amelia laughed. “Ain’t I a real sweetheart!?”

*laughs* Fine, fine, I’ll sing one song if it’ll make you happy.
“It will!” She clapped her hands and a huge grin split her face as they walked into the bar. “I need a drink first, gimme a bit o’ liquid courage!”
Do you think they’ll have any mead? I haven’t had any since that drinking contest with Thor ages ago.
She blinked. “I…I don’t really know. I usually have a few beers and a sandwhich with fries.”
Beer is good too. *steps up to the bartender* 2 pints please.
She smiled. “Ya bet it is!” She maneuvered her way to a table.
*bartender hands over the two drinks* Thank you. Put it on my tab. *hands one of the drinks to Amelia* Cheers.
Amelia tapped her glass to his. “Cheers!” She took a long sip, placing the glass down and grinned. “Ah, how I’ve missed this!”
*takes long sip as well* Don’t come here often anymore?
She grinned. “Well, my days have become a bit more busy. I rarely have time ta come. But Tim is away on business and I was cleanin’ the house so I figured I’d treat myself.” She chuckled. “He doesn’t sing much. I sing ta him.”
That’s sweet. *he swallowed another mouthful of beer* I wish I could sing. I used to love to when I was little, but after puberty I could never hit the higher notes correctly. I always ended up making a big fool of myself. *chuckles, then takes another sip*
“Have ya ever tries a song with deeper notes? Ya don’t hafta sing high notes ya know.” She took a sip of her beer and tapped her foot along to the beat of the song someone was singing. They weren’t too bad.”
